Grouse

Ruffed grouse live in 34 of the 49 continental states and in all Canadian provinces. Often thought of as a bird of the deep forest, grouse actually thrive best in young, aspen forests and brushlands.

Woodcock

Woodcock are migratory birds. They range over much of the eastern half of the United States and Canada. The birds favour moist woodlands with streams and swampy areas

Grind'em Outfitters is owned and operated by Gord Ives, and Jack Crotta, a well recognized outfitter located in Southern Ontario Canada.

The Upland hunting experience begins in Mid-September straight through until Mid-January, however the prime Upland hunting time is from October to November.

Our guided hunts are made up of 2-4 hunters. We hunt in native grassy fields, bush, and forests. Most of our hunting is done walking. Our guided hunts are designed to accommodate your style. Dogs are recommended companions on these hunts, you may bring your own hunting dogs or be accompanied by our dogs.

Hunts can be scheduled for early morning or afternoon, depending on your schedule.

Pheasant

The pheasant’s world changes drastically in winter. Canopy covers of leaves are gone, and high grasses are usually blown down or matted by drifting snow. Pheasants are better equipped than some birds, such as quail, for scratching through a few inches of snow for grit, grain residues, and weed seeds. But as snows deepen and winter intensifies, pheasants are forced into heavier security cover such as cattails, swales, and ditch banks.
