About Grind'em Outfitters

Gord Ives Co-founder, owner and operator of Grind'em Outfitters.

Gord is a boat captain with the MNR working the waters of Lake Erie. His waterfowling addiction began as a young boy hunting with his father and friends in the marshes, rivers, lakes and fields of the infamous Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary in Kingsville, Ontario. Special memories of hunting with his dad still brings a smile to both of their faces.

Gord resides in Port Dover, Ontario. He realizes how lucky he is to have such an understanding wife, Julie, with four children to take care of: Brittnie, Maighan, Jordan and Haylee.

30 years of hunting and guiding experience along with hard work, dedication and success has earned him the title of "The Grinder" Gord and his black lab "Thunder" can be found early September right through late February scouting, guiding and managing Grind'em Outfitters. If time permits you may cross his path on the Flyway Highway in the grain fields of Northern and Eastern Ontario south to the flooded rice and timber of the southern USA. Gord is also an avid Turkey hunter and enjoys his trip to Quebec snow goose hunting.

Pro staffing for Primos Hunting Calls for over twelve years has given him the opportunity to meet all types of people from all walks of life with one common bond: the love of the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt!

After years of listening to the pros and cons of a guided hunt he knew one way to ensure hunter satisfaction: form his own company and live up to the clients expectations of a positive, unforgettable hunt.

Gord can be found all over the map throughout North America with his hunting seminars and calling demonstrations. He frequently does presentations for organizations such as DU, Delta Waterforl, NWTF as well as for Cabelas, Bass Pro and Gander Mountain. Gord has also been featured in several outdoor magazines, radio interviews and newspaper articles.

Jack Crotta Co-founder, owner and operator of Grind'em Outfitters.

Jack is a highly respected and experienced automotive technician working at Simcoe Chrysler for over twenty years.

He is married to Connie and has a lovely daughter Ashley, whom at age eleven has already become an avid hunter. Ashley enjoys time spent with her dad skeet shooting, hunting or fishing, whether it is at home in Simcoe, or at their cottage in Northern Ontario.

Although a practicing gunsmith and gun collector, Jack's specialty is upland hunting. He has pursued pheasant, grouse and woodcock extensively throughout Northern and Southern Ontario.

It takes a special kind of persistence to keep after these elusive birds and Jack has developed a knack for finding them even in the most challenging field conditions.

You can look forward to sharing his knowledge and expertise in the field, his positive, outgoing and often comical approach to life, combined with his commitment, ability and love for the sport has allowed guiding to come as second nature.
